1. Ice Wine!
My Mom bought us a bottle of Chateau St. Michelle's Riesling Ice wine when she was visiting us this summer. We had to promise we wouldn't open it until our anniversary, but the wait was totally worth it! We decided to share it with our good friends across the street who were recently engaged and we toasted to our years together and all of our years to come. This wine is so sweet and is meant to just sip because it's thick, almost like a thin syrup consistency. It's special because...1- it's from form favorite winery in my home state of Washington and 2-this ice wine has only been made six times and only when they get the perfect freezing temps that create the delicious flavor! Thanks, Mom!
2. Roller Coasters!
We spent the last weekend in September hanging with Dan's brother Kevin and his girlfriend, Katie, who came in to visit from Minneapolis. Sunday, we all spent the day at Cedar Point, home of the largest roller coasters in the nation! Now, I'm not the biggest fan of roller coasters and I didn't go on the insane looking ones, but we all had such a great time! The newer and smoother roller coasters were what I was okay with and Katie went with me on some of the piddly little fair rides. Dan got to perfect his picture pose, whilst riding. (Short story: Dan was caught making a horrible face on the space mountain ride is Disney World. You know how they take your picture while riding and then they display it for everyone to gawk at. We walked out of the ride just as a group of teenage boys were laughing at our photo. Nuff said.) Dan hasn't had a bad ride picture since. At Cedar Point, he was smiling and giving a thumbs-up in every picture! We had a great time riding and eating our way through the park, which had also just started their "Halloweekends", so we went through a few haunted houses! Tremendously fun day!
3. Our Spa Weekend!
I'm sure this comes as no shock to you, as I just wrote a long blog about how Dan surprised me with a weekend at Soaring Eagle Resort! If I had to pick a favorite moment from the short trip, It would have to be the couples massage he had arranged for us. Truly, the whole weekend was fun and perfect.
